Beginner Aerial Yoga Huntington Beach
Inversion Addiction
Our flying flows are flippin’ fun- but what keeps our members coming back for more?
AERIAL YOGA
INVERSIONS.
If you haven’t experienced an Aerial Yoga inversion- you’re majorly missing out. Going upside down in our famous pink hammocks puts just the right amount of pressure in just the right spots on your hips, while your upper body floats in air. This allows your spine to lengthen and relax during the inversion free time in the middle and at the end of class.
BENEFITS OF AERIAL YOGA INVERSIONS
Reduced back pain: By decompressing the spine, inversions can alleviate back pain and improve spinal alignment. You’ll hear lots of ooohs and ahhhhhs in class. It’s what keeps you coming back!
Strengthened core: Getting out of inversions requires a sit up from much lower than on the ground, targeting your deep core.
Increased flexibility: Once inverted, you may take a pigeon pose or the splits and hold it much longer while gravity works with you, not against you.
Boosted mood: Inversions can help reduce stress and anxiety, promoting relaxation and a sense of well-being. Turn that frown upside down! :)
MOST IMPORTANTLY
A major confidence boost!
Whether its the glimpse you get at your silhouette in the mirror, or the photo just like this you take after class- you will never feel or look better!

Aerial Yoga
Beginner friendly- this Aerial Yoga class will use vinyasa style breath to movement postures which flow together seamlessly.
These will include classic warriors and sun salutations with the support of the fabric as well as postures that are unique to Aerial Yoga. You will be able to use the Aerial Yoga hammock to your advantage as support while building strength and finding balance in postures you may find challenging on the mat.
We will warm up, flow, do an inversion, then have a mini savasana with mint essential oils rolled onto our wrists before another flow, another inversion, and our last savasana with lavender essential oil spray.
-
Low Hammock Zen
Many new students start here to get comfortable with the hammock on the ground before flying. With the hammock hung closer to the ground, we will hold restorative postures for longer periods of time to relax and restore while releasing fascia and calming the nervous system.
We have plenty of soft and fluffy props to make you as comfortable as possible.
Class will start on our back- with the hammock supporting our neck, upper back, lower back, behind our legs, then our ankles. Then, we will flip into tummy time on our chest and hips before floating savasana with lavender essential oil spray.
-
Aerial Sound Bath
Experience pure bliss as you float and surrender to the healing frequencies of the crystal bowls, gongs and chimes within our signature pink Aerial Yoga hammocks, which allow you to feel the vibrations flow through your body in a special way. Leave feeling lighter, brighter and deeply at peace. A profoundly cathartic journey you can't get anywhere else!
We will spend the entire hour in our hammocks with neck pillows and lavender eye masks.

Our Story
Hello! My name is Taylor- welcome to Open Aerial!
I took my first Aerial Yoga class in college. I was overweight, drinking often, and eating poorly. I stumbled upon an aerial arts studio, in awe at what I saw in the window. Something made me sign up for that class- even though I didn’t feel “ready”. Needless to say, I became obsessed. I quickly made it my entire personality- taking 3 classes a day for months. For the first time- I started taking care of my body for how I felt, instead of how I looked. I had to limit my drinking, because I couldn’t go to class hungover. I had to eat better, so I could have the energy to fly. I had to cross train with weightlifting and cardio, so I could be stronger and excel at my training.
At my peak of training, I was down 70 lbs and never looked or felt better in my life. Just as things were going really well- COVID19 hit. My beloved aerial studio closed and I was forced to move back to Seattle. What I thought was the end, was actually just the beginning. During COVID, I was setting up my portable hammock and hosting “Open Air Aerial Yoga” outside. “Open Aerial” started to sound catchy. Once things opened back up, I started taking classes at Flightroom- Seattle’s chain of 4 Aerial Yoga studios and I’ll never forget when I received their email about their Xinalani Aerial Yoga Retreat + Aerial Yoga teacher training in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where we are hosting our own retreat in May! I have never gotten my credit card out so fast in my LIFE! Xinalani was not only where I received my first of many Aerial Yoga teacher trainings, but also my first solo international trip. I have since practiced and taught Aerial Yoga retreats in Thailand, Singapore, Greece, Spain, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam and the Dominican Republic.
Somewhere along the way, the dream of owning my own studio went from a daydream in my cubicle to a plan in action. I picked Orange County to open Open Aerial after falling in love with vacations in Newport Beach, where I happily live.
Once I got here, I continued with my “Open Air” events on evenings and weekends on the beach and at farmers markets. I wanted as many people to try Aerial Yoga as possible! Everyone who tried it got to give me their email and follow me on Instagram. I credit this work in the community for Open Aerial’s instant success, opening with 2x founding memberships as our goal!
Open Aerial is different than other aerial studios because we truly focus on yoga. While I was training at a higher level in the past, Open Aerial’s classes are designed to make yoga easier, never harder. Rest assured- you will not walk into an Aerial Yoga class here and be met with any circus classes. We do have those on our schulde- but they are rare and marked very clearly!
I invite you to take the same small risk I did, no matter what is holding you back, to reap the rewards of flight. Plant Your seed today, so you can lay in the shade later.
